We have now progressed to the third day of the veggie eating championship and we have almost reached the hump, Casey declined chickpeas yesterday but he sure had them to day,HA! But he sure ate his words. As a change I made hummous, marinated chickpeas, feta, pecorino and assorted dipping veggies. Casey thought it would be chickpea stew, boy was he wrong. I do have to say something here, please don’t take offense but realise I do speak only the truth. Homemade hummous kicks every other hummous’s butt, hands down, absolutely no competition. Especially when you cook the chickpeas yourself, it really isn’t that hard people and I am definately talking about cans here. If you have a problem, buy me a flight and I will prove it to you anytime anywhere baby. By the way, Casey did buy some lovely method champinoise sparkling wine, which went perfectly with the meal. You know what, this was fun, and relaxing. Don’t be scared about what you should have for dinner enjoy yourself! I hope you try it yourself.
If you need help with hummous let me know, if you need help with pita, I implore you to speak to the mistress of pita herself. Whilst my puff rate wasn’t perfect, they sure tasted fabulous dipped into the fresh hummous. But the best news is that there is pita for lunch tomorrow and some in the freezer for later.

Important: When you buy tahini to make your hummous buy unhulled, it will be a slightly darker colour. There is a significantly higher amount of calcium and other vitaminsthan in unhulled tahini.

I thought I should mention the tomates (FG these are the ones I am talking about) they are called kumatos (not a spelling mistake) and are really, really sweet as well as being a most unusal shade of um well I am just not sure.

Ok, I am actually in shock at the moment. I didn’t have a journalist tell me that I was the author of a cheese sandwhich blog, but I did have my boyfriend tell me that *grrr* all because I hadn’t published a photo with yesterdays post, well just so you know it is there now. ;P to Casey
