I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this place (LOL), but I thought you might like to know that I buy the veggies for the week and my bread at fratelli fresh. Of course, vegetable shopping is such hot and hard work in the summer time, especially when you are going with a good looking single male friend who also has good choice in vegetables (any Sydney girls interested???? send me an email
). So when we went last week, whilst he was still on holidays we were so hot and bothered that we might just have required a cool dessert and coffee pick-me-up to make it through the day. Where would we go? Of course to Cafe Sopra, which is located past the BIG BEAUTIFUL doors (I promise a photo next time) through the shop to the left and up the stairs past the italian groceries. We just made it before the 3pm closing time. Chris of course immediatly starts to flirt, or wishes he was
with the friendly waitress. We order 2 macchiatos and I a Crostata flavoured Gelato ($3). I love this stuff. The day was so hot that the gelato was already melting around the edges when it was brought to me. It tastes to me of apricots and lovely buttery sweet pastry but the texture is smooth and silky. I definately recommend it!

Chris, on the other hand had deeper pockets and a lovely waitress to impress, so he ordered the steamed cheesecake with fresh peaches.

I didn’t get to try any, but (I am sure Chris will leave a comment) there was no cheesecake left on the plate and I did hear him mention that the fresh peaches were the perfect accoutrement. The best part though, was that I know we will get to go back for an early afternoon veggie shopping and coffee/dessert break as the waitress managed to get Chris to agree to come back ( I don’t think she needed to try very hard LOL) Chris of course thinks it is because of his scintilating wit and good looks, but we know it is because of the big tip ;p
